Carmencita
The work "Carmencita" is a series of drawings concerning the power relations between artist and model; more specifically the relations between the Spanish dancer Carmencita and the artists who portrayed her. Carmencita was presumably the first woman to appear on film in the US (filmed by Thomas Edison in 1894). She was also a popular model for many of contemporary painters. Shown at the group exhibition "How about her side of the story?", Gallery Charlotte Fogh Contemporary, Aarhus, Denmark, 2006.
