"Chloe Liked Olivia. They Shared a Laboratory Together..."

2 inkjet prints (2006)
each 120 x 90 cm

The photos are inspired by the novel A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf. In the book, Woolf asks for more variation in the description of women in literature. She presents the story of Chloe and Olivia, dissecting livers in their laboratory. By juxtaposing Woolf’s story with the image of the two female competitive dancers, I wanted to suggest the possibility of a multitude of female roles and figures.
